Francisco Lindor drove in two runs and Pete Alonso homered to power the Mets to a sweep of the Angels on Wednesday at Citi Field.

The superstar tandem packed a punch on Wednesday afternoon, driving in a combined five runs on four hits in the Mets' sweep of the Angels at Citi Field.

Lindor, hitless for a career-high 31 at-bats, stroked an RBI single in the third and repeated the act in the fourth. In between, Alonso’s thunder gave the Mets an early cushion for the first time since the All-Star break.

The New York Mets shortstop offered a five-word response on the New York Yankees' "tough" decision on Anthony Volpe.

As the other New York shortstop, Lindor said he was aware of what Volpe was going through and while he never had similar issues while a young player with Cleveland, he believed he was helped by the lack of attention that comes with playing in a smaller market.
