Detroit Tigers ace Tarik Skubal was the unanimous 2024 American League Cy Young Award winner and has put himself in position to accomplish the impressive feat again in 2025. He has been dominating opponents with regularity again,

After six shutout innings, Skubal took a 1-0 lead into the seventh. A one-out double by Adolis Garcia and a single by Kyle Higashioka put the tying run at third. Skubal then won an eight-pitch battle to strike out Jonah Heim.

After giving up the lead on a wild pitch in the bottom of the seventh, Matt Vierling delivered a two-out, two-strike RBI single in the top of the eighth, sending the Tigers to a 2-1 win.
