The Met Office issued an updated weather warning for thunderstorms on Friday evening. The new yellow alert, impacting three regions, now lasts for 12 hours.
The Met Office has issued an amber weather warning for south-east England as more than a month's worth of rain is forecast to fall in a matter of hours on Saturday morning. It says fast-flowing and deep floodwaters are likely, leading to road and transport disruption, as well as power cuts.
A less-severe yellow thunderstorm warning covers the whole of Merseyside tomorrow. Much of the UK is covered by this warning, including East Midlands, East of England, London and South East England, North East England, South West England, West Midlands and Yorkshire & Humber.
