The Burdoin fire burning on the Washington side of the Columbia River Gorge grew to 8,700 acres on Sunday and is 0% contained. Level 3 (go now) evacuations are in effect for residents in Lyle and High Prairie in Klickitat County.

The Burdoin Fire burning the Columbia River Gorge remains uncontained on Sunday, July 20. Fire officials said Sunday afternoon that the fire had burned 8,776 acres, a smaller size than announced this morning. Officials say better mapping allowed them to get a more accurate size of the fire.

A new wildfire erupted on the Washington side of the Columbia River Gorge the afternoon of July 18, which has closed Highway 14.
