In Amarillo, U.S. Sen. Cornyn outlined local impacts of the “Big Beautiful Bill,” including support for AI development and rural health care.

Sen. John Cornyn was in Amarillo speaking at the Amarillo Chamber of Commerce luncheon and fireside chat. During the luncheon, wins for the Amarillo business community and Panhandle economy in the Big Beautiful Bill were highlighted.

Cornyn will need to use his deep coffers to overcome an early polling deficit to Paxton, who is looking to deny the GOP incumbent’s bid for a fifth term.

The unusual move by three former state Supreme Court justices comes as Cornyn is facing an increasingly intense primary challenge from Paxton, who announced his candidacy in April and is buoyed by strong support among hard‑right and Trump-aligned voters.
