The pilot of the SkyWest flight apologized to passengers after having to make an "aggressive maneuver" to avoid what he identified as a B-52 bomber near Minot.

Ground squirrels have proliferated in Minot, North Dakota's fourth-largest city. They've burrowed everywhere from vacant lots to school grounds, residential areas and the downtown area.

A SkyWest flight from Minneapolis narrowly missed a mid-air collision with a B-52 bomber near Minot Airport last week.

Jared Edwards, facilities director for Minot Public Schools, which has three schools on the base, said residential areas of the base and runways are overrun by ground squirrels. H

The North Dakota Game and Fish Department is hosting thousands of visitors this week at its Conservation and Outdoor Skills Park. There are a variety of activities, exhibits, and information all around that area. Kids and adults can hunt, fish, or try trapping and archery in the Conservation and Outdoor Skills Park.

A concertgoer at the North Dakota State Fair recorded footage of a B-52 bomber and a SkyWest jet on a collision course, but he didn't realize he was watching a potential disaster unfolding before his very eyes.
