PGA Tour Sends Touching Message on Scottie Scheffler, Wife Meredith and Son Bennett originally appeared on Athlon Sports. On Sunday at Royal Portrush, Scottie Scheffler reflected on what mattered most as he hoisted the Claret Jug, describing how his first instinct after tapping in on the 18th green was to find his wife Meredith and son Bennett.

Phil Mickelson shifted from subtle jabs to open admiration for Scottie Scheffler following his dominant Open Championship win.
The last nine times American Scottie Scheffler has led after 54 holes on the PGA Tour, he has closed out the victory and there is no reason to suggest he will not make that a perfect 10 at the British Open on Sunday.
But, with 36 holes left, the Claret Jug is still very much up for grabs. Scheffler is paired up with Matt Fitzpatrick, who held a share of the lead after Thursday and then backed that up with a 5-under 66 on Friday. He's starting just a shot back from Scheffler. Brian Harman and Haotong Li are tied at 8-under to start the day, too.
The third round of the Open Championship begins on Saturday in Northern Ireland, with Scottie Scheffler leading the pack at -10.
Another major championship means another opportunity for Scottie Scheffler, but success at the Open Championship and golf in general isn’t what fulfills the American.
